Here are a few shots from our recent photo shoot with Kate Ford’s prize-winning dish. Who’d have thought a Hearty Ale and Mushroom Pie could be so photogenic!
Lots of work goes on behind the scenes to make sure the final shots show off our dishes to their best advantage – and we can’t wait to see Kate’s entry on the brand new packaging. It will be launched exclusively in Sainsbury’s in August.
The winner of our Search for the UK’s Tastiest Meat-free Dish chats to Cook Vegetarian magazine about the inspiration for her entry and her Hearty Ale and Mushroom Pie. What was one of her favourite moments? Talking to Sir Paul McCartney of course!
According to the Shape Up column in Closer magazine, our new Peri Peri Burgers are a ‘low-cal lovely’. Given that they’ve got half the fat of a beef burger and are just as delicious on the BBQ, we couldn’t agree more!
We’d always suspected that a delicious vegetarian product could win over even the most dedicated of meat eaters – and on a recent broadcast of The One Show, in front of about 5 million witnesses, Jay Rayner proved us right!
One of the judges on Master Chef and a big meat fan, Jay declared our vegetarian sausages an “impressive” substitute to his staple meal favourite – and also gave the Meat Free Monday campaign a big thumbs up.
In his review of Britain’s favourite meat alternatives, Jay was joined by Alex Connell of the Vegetarian Society – one of our judges in the search for the UK’s tastiest meat-free dish.
Hundreds of entries, 5 Judges and now thousands of your votes have decided the winner!
The UK voted Kate’s Mushroom, Ale & Puy Lentil Pie the tastiest meat-free dish. Now it will inspire the next dish in our new range which will be available for you to try from August exclusively in Sainsbury’s.
Thanks to everyone who sent in their fantastic dishes and to all of you who voted.
Look out for our 3 finalists cooking their delicious dishes next week on ITV. Don’t forget to visit ITV.com to vote for your favourite and for the chance to WIN a Baumatic microwave. Voting closes at 5pm on the 7th of April.
For the very first time, Linda McCartney’s extraordinary life and career will be documented online with the launch of www.lindamccartney.com
The official website – which has been created and approved by Paul McCartney and the McCartney family – will be the first time Linda’s extensive and varied work and life has been collected together in one place in this way. The website will feature sections devoted to Linda’s biography, vegetarian cooking, photography, music and films.
The launch of this site comes ahead of the publication of a special new book of Linda’s photographs entitled ‘Linda McCartney: Life In Photographs’, which is set to be published by Taschen in April.
New York born Linda was an acclaimed photographer when she married Paul McCartney in 1969. She later became a member of Wings, an influential animal rights activist and a successful entrepreneur, with a range of vegetarian food and cookbooks to her name as well as being a mother to her children Heather, Mary, Stella and James. Linda’s work lives on today.
We’ve been busy filming our three finalists in our search for the UK’s tastiest meat free dish. We visited them in their home town around Hertfordshire, Shrewsbury and Derbyshire and filmed them cooking each of their delicious recipes.
Each mini film will be shown on ITV from the 4th of April and online at ITV.COM. Don’t forget to vote for your favourite you could win one of five Baumatic microwave ovens and some of our delicious new products.
